The Surrey Compact

The Surrey Compact is a commitment to continually improve relationships between public organisations, the voluntary and community sector and organisations representing service users and carers.

The Surrey Compact builds relationships between voluntary, community and faith sector and public authorities in Surrey. It is an agreement that changes how partners behave, engage and work together at all levels.

It will help us to:

  • Make sure we are open and respectful in how we work together
  • Understand each other better
  • Involve the right people and appreciate that voluntary action is an essential componant to a democratic society.
Surrey Compact is specially developed for the county of Surrey. It is one of the local Compacts which underpin partnership work in England. It is compatible with the National Compact.
The commitment consists of the Compact Document, in which the principles are detailed and six Codes of practice. There are a wide range of benefits to becoming a Compact member.
The Surrey Compact employs a Director and is overseen by an independent Chairman and elected Implementation Group.
